Mxmtoon is a 19 year old American singer-songwriter from Oakland, California. She is most prominently known for her singing, playing of the ukulele, and her unfiltered lyrics. Her 2018 debut EP plum blossom received more than 100 million streams on Spotify alone. She is currently amassing millions of followers and subscribers across YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram, making a point of using her growing platform to speak out on issues close to her heart.

Everything I Never Told You
Everything I Never Told You is a novel written by Celeste Ng which reached Amazon's Best Books of the Year list for 2014. The novel focuses on a mixed-race Chinese American family living in small-town Ohio in the 1970s. The story opens with the death of sixteen-year-old Lydia, the beloved middle child of Marilyn and James lee. The book follows each member of the family on their journey of coping and expresses the pressures put on children by parents, children wanting to uphold certain standards, parents making assumptions, siblings caught between jealousy and sympathy, infidelity and sacrifice, the poison of the american dream, and racial identity.

UMI’S TOUR TICKETS
Throughout the month of March, music artist UMI is going on her first headline tour across the US called “The Love Language Tour”. Her concerts will be opened by indie music artist Diana Lopez. Each show will occur at locations such as, Santa Ana, San Francisco, Seattle, Toronto, Brooklyn NY, and Chicago.

The latest episode of the podcast Code Switch discusses the topic of “racial imposter syndrome” which is when people with biracial and multi-ethnic identities feel like imposters of one or more of their identities because they don’t specifically fit into any one category. Hosts Shereen Marisol Meraji and Gene Demby received hundreds of emails from listeners who related to the topic. The episode covers the discussion of identity struggle as well as covers interviews with several guest speakers on their personal experiences with this feeling.
